David Lundin, MA
Senior Consultant
"Before joining PsychAssets, I acquired experience and education in both the corporate and the clinical world. I spent 26 years as an automotive executive in long-range product planning, strategic marketing and brand management, gaining valuable experience in issues regarding corporate culture and the impact on decision making. I led the team providing market input to numerous future product programs and presented proposals to top management frequently. Product planning is a unique way to experience all aspects of corporate functioning, including finance, engineering, sales, manufacturing, research, human resources and executive leadership. This experience provides me with the background to understand organizational functioning from the inside out.
Following my stint as an auto executive, I began a career as a clinical psychologist with an MA in Mental Health Counseling from Oakland University and extensive and ongoing coursework at the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute. Since then I have been in private practice at several clinics.
Regarding my own diversity journey, I grew up in a white (Swedish, English), suburban, Protestant, upper-middle-class, business family. However, since my liberal arts academic education, I have opened up in many areas, becoming more spiritual as opposed to formally religious, more humanistic, more involved in the helping professions and more participative in human diversity is all its guises, including demographics, thought, behavior and culture. I believe in the power of deep understanding of the human psyche to transform both an individual's and an organization's life and success level. PsychAssets provides me with the rich and caring environment to continue to grow as a professional, both clinically and organizationally. At PsychAssets I practice individual psychotherapy, school assessment testing and corporate consulting."
In his free time, Dave leads a film discussion group at the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute, where he is also the Foundation Treasurer and on the board of the Association for Psychoanalytic Thought. He currently plays jazz piano and has car racing in his history and possibly his future.
